Futuremakers with Harvest Textiles - July 2012The past few weeks have been so full of activity around here that we have barely had time to keep up with our blog posts but it just means that we have a whole lot of news to fill you in on.
One of the many things that has been keeping us occupied has been the Futuremakers program that we have been running down by the Yarra River at Signal Arts. The program was thanks to a grant that Harvest Textiles was awarded by the City of Melbourne to run a free 2 week screenprinting intensive with a small group of 15-20 year olds.
We had the pleasure of meeting some talented young folk who worked very hard to design, produce and promote their own printed goodies and we kept a blog of the project which is definitely worth a look.
Thanks to Signal, the City of Melbourne and Permaset (who donated some of their water-based screenprinting inks) for their generous support of this worthwhile endeavour.
We had loads of fun and look forward to seeing these young creative spirits flourish over the coming years.
Em x

  1. I love this program! What a clever bunch they are. A program like this would have had a big impact on me when I was a teenager (quite a long time ago now - eek). I hope they enjoyed it (from the photos I've seen it looks like they did!).
